MIAMI GARDENS, Fla- The STU volleyball team was in action Wednesday evening inside the Fernandez Center taking on Webber University. STU lost the match in four sets 3-1.

STU struggled offensively throughout the match and could not get a serve in. Webber had 7 total service aces as opposed to STU's 1. Webber also had 59 total team kills as opposed to STU's 51.

Webber's Julianne Dougherty led her team with a huge double-double 20 kills and 14 digs. Brandi Aresnault led all STU players with 18 kills. Nicole McInnis chipped in with a solid double-double of 15 kills and 15 digs. But it was not enough for STU to pull out of its recent slump. STU head coach Friedman Sifontes gave his assessment after the match “it was an up and down game Sifontes said. When we were up we were up, we got to get things done offensively that we hadn't been able to do lately. Our outsides hit very well.”

Webber won the first two sets and gained a commanding lead in the match. STU would battle back valiantly and win the third set to force a fourth. But the momentum was short lived as Webber would take advantage of STU's service woes and take the fourth to win the match three sets to one.
