STU women secure 50 point victory over Edward Waters

Munoz leads the way with 26 points

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla- The STU women's basketball team secured a 50 point victory over Edward Waters College inside the Fernandez Center. Edward Waters came into the contest with a 4-4 record they are now below .500 at 4-5. STU came in with a 5-1 record and improved to 6-1 overall.

 STU shot the ball extremely efficiently in the contest they were 49% from the field and 45% from three point range. The story of the match was the abysmal shooting from Edward Waters who could not find their rhythm offensively throughout the game. They shot the ball 31% for the game and 33% from three point land.

 Roxyali Munoz continued her outstanding play for the Bobcats this season. She had 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Maddie Cummings chipped in with 22 points and was 6 of 13 from long range. The Bobcats had three players in double figures with Nickerline Montina adding 12 points and was 6 for 11 from the field.

 Krishawn Kelly led all scorers for the visiting Edward Waters Tigers; she had a total of 11 points for her side. Kelley also grabbed 7 rebounds and chipped in defensively with 2 steals and 1 block. The Tigers only had two players in double figures the other being Tiffany Tolbert who had 10 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal.

 The final score was 98-48 in favor of the Bobcats. They led from early in the first half and never looked back to secure a 50 point victory.
