Lakeland, Fla.--  The Bobcat volleyball team was able to improve their conference record to .500 with a victory over Sun Conference foe Southeastern on Saturday afternoon.  STU dispatched of SEU in straight sets 25-19, 25-14 and 26-24.   

Leading the way for the Bobcats was Mayara Gomes with 16 assists, seven kills and five digs.  As expected returning All-Conference selection Betina Schmidt was a heavy contributor adding 14 assists, six kills and four digs and Brandi Arsenault continued the strong start to her STU career chipping in 14 kills, two aces and one dig.   

After easily taking the first two sets the third set proved to be a hard fought set.  SEU looked as if they were going to take the set after leading 23-21 but STU fought hard and won five of the next six points.  Gomes got things started with a kill to bring the score to 23-22 and Arsenault sealed SEU's fate with three kills in the final four points.

The Bobcats get back into action on Wednesday at 7 pm against Florida Memorial.  Travel to Florida Memorial and support Coach Sifontes and his team.
