MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The St. Thomas women's soccer team traveled to Sun Conference rivals Embry-Riddle and Thomas over the weekend, losing 2-0 to the Eagles on Friday, then bouncing back with a 3-1 win Sunday at Thomas.  The Bobcats are now 4-3 overall and 1-1 in The Sun Conference.

On Friday, the Bobcats headed north to Daytona Beach for a game under the lights vs. Embry-Riddle.  The two teams, who last met in an double overtime thriller in the 2011 Sun Conference tournament final, fought a scoreless battle for the first 69 minutes of the game.  The Eagles broke the deadlock with a goal in the 70th minute before icing the game with a second goal in the 84th minute.

Coming off the late night in Daytona Beach, the Bobcats hit the road again this time to visit the newest member of the Sun Confernece, Thomas University located in Thomasville, Ga.

The Bobcats would fall behind early to Thomas, before Melony Poviones quickly responded with a goal less than four minutes later to tie the game at 1-1 heading into halftime.  The Bobcats would take the lead with a goal just 3:20 into the second half on a Courtney Trujillo header off a Poviones free kick. STU would go on to dominate large portions of the final period compiling 16 shots (six on goal) and ultimately putting the game away with Christina Salazar scoring off a corner kick by Shante Chevannes with 22 seconds left in regulation for the two-goal win.

The Bobcats, who earlier this season traveled to California for two games, will next play on Thursday in the fourth of a five-game road stretch against Southeastern in Lakeland, Fla.
