BOBCATS DEFEAT SOUTHEASTERN FOR WIN NUMBER 19

LAKELAND, Fla. – The 13th ranked St. Thomas men's basketball team defeated Southeastern, 68-47 on Monday night to improve to 19-7 on the season and 12-2 in The Sun Conference.  With the win, the Bobcats have now won 18 of their last 19 games.

In their final regular season road game of the season, the Bobcats outshot the Fire 46% to 27% and held Southeastern to just 20 points in the second half.  Senior forward David Nesbitt recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  Senior center Everson Lacerda scored 15 points and pulled down six rebounds, while sophomore Kevin Hincapie scored 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting including one three-pointer.

Two games remain on the schedule for St. Thomas with Embry –Riddle on Thursday night and Ave Maria on Saturday night at the Fernandez Center.  STU beat Ave Maria on the road on Jan. 21, while the Bobcats defeated Embry-Riddle, 76-73, in their first meeting on Dec. 1 in Daytona Beach.
