Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas men's soccer team defeated Northwood 2-0 in a road game Tuesday afternoon in West Palm Beach, earning the Bobcats (1-2-1) their first win of the 2012 season.  Olando Lawrence and Juan Sebastian Lara scored for St. Thomas, while senior goalkeeper Lyle Howe recorded the shutout.

Lawrence scored in the 25th minute on an assist by Daniel Marulanda.  Lara's goal came on a shot in the 78th minute that bounced off the Northwood goalkeeper and into the net to give the Bobcats insurance for the final 12 minutes of the game.

The STU defense, along with goalkeeping by Uculmana, maintaned the shutout for the entire 90 minutes.  

The game vs. Sun Conference member Northwood will not be counted as a conference game for either team.  The two schools will meet again in a Sun Conference game on Wednesday, October 17 at Bobcat Field.    

The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday, September 19 for their Sun Conference opener, a home game vs. Warner at 4 p.m at Bobcat field on the STU campus.
