BOBCATS FALL JUST SHORT AT BARRY

Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The St. Thomas women's soccer team played over 98 minutes of shutout soccer before falling to cross-town rival Barry, 1-0 in overtime on Monday night at Buccaneer Field.

Goalkeeper Victoria Shahbaz recorded seven saves, before Barry's Katie Lamendola tapped in the game-winner on a frenzied scrum in front of the goal mouth after a Barry corner kick 8:43 into overtime.

The Buccaneers (2-1-0) outshot the Bobcats (0-2-0) 14-10 (8-3 on goal) in the game that was delayed for an hour after the first half due to weather in the area. 

STU's Sara Mira, Danelle Nguyen, and Melisa Camacho all had shots on goal.  Six Bobcats, Shahbaz, Mira, Shante Chevannes, Alyssa Kilbride, Courtney Trujillo, and Emelie Johansson, played the entire 99 minutes of the match.

St. Thomas travels to Southern California this weekend in with games vs. William Jessup on Friday and Marymount on Sunday in Atherton, Calif.
