LAKELAND, Fla. – With little time for rest after Friday's win at Ave Maria, the 16
th ranked St. Thomas women's basketball team had to stage a major comeback to defeat Southeastern. 61-50, on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bobcats improved their overall record to 18-2 (.900 winning percentage) and their Sun Conference record to 6-0.
The Bobcats trailed 29-19 at halftime, then trailed by as many as 12 points midway through the second half. Southeastern led 46-37 with 6:14 to play, but the Bobcats would go on a tear from there going on a 26-4 run to close out the game.
Berna Miranda led the charge at one point scoring eight consecutive points with back-to-back threes.
Miranda led STU with 18 points.
Constina Cousins had 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
Dannisha Pierce recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
