STU AND THOMAS PLAY TO 1-1 DRAW

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas University men's soccer team played Thomas University to a 1-1 tie in a Sun Conference affair on Sunday at Bobcat Field. With the score tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, neither team scored in the two overtime periods.

STU's lone goal came in the 40th minute as junior Marcelo Norton scored off an assist by junior Andres Ruiz to tie the game at 1-1. The two teams remained scoreless for the final 70 minutes of action.

It marked the third overtime game this season for STU. The Bobcats are now 0-4-1 in the conference and 1-6-1 overall. The Nighthawks, who had been perfect in leahue play, went to 5-0-1 in the conference and 9-3-1 overall.
St. Thomas returns to action with its final home game of the season on Thursday vs. Southeastern, 4 p.m. at Bobcat Field. The game will mark Senior Day for the Bobcats with pre-game ceremonies honoring the 2013 senior class.
