MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas Men's Soccer team dropped a one-goal match at crosstown rival Johnson & Wales on Saturday at North Miami Stadium. The Bobcats had a 1-0 lead at halftime, but gave up two goals in the second half to fall to Wildcats. With the loss, St. Thomas fell to 3-8-1 overall and 2-6-1 in The Sun Conference. Johnson & Wales improved to 10-7 overall and 3-7 in league play.
The two teams went scoreless for the first 40 minutes of play until STU's
Francisco Amorena broke the deadlock with a goal with 4:20 left before halftime. The unassisted goal was Amorena's second of the season.
Just six seconss into the second half, JWU scored the game-tying goal and then followed with a goal in the 56th minute for the eventual 2-1 win.
The Bobcats will conclude the regular season with a game vs. Florida Memorial on Tuesday. Although the game will count as a home game for Florida Memorial and a road game for St. Thomas, it will be played at Bobcat Field at 4 p.m.
