MEN'S SOCCER HANDLES LIONS

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas men's soccer team defeated Florida Memorial, 3-0, in a Sun Conference match on Tuesday afternoon at Bobcat Field. The Bobcats were led offensively by Olando Lawrence who scored one goal to go along with two assists.

Lawrence scored the game's first goal in the 33rd minute off an assist by Manuel Andreani in what proved to be the game-winner. After taking a 1-0 lead into the half, the Bobcats struck again just 31 seconds into the second half as Lawrence assisted on a goal by Michael Weatherly. In the 61st minute, Lawrence notched his second assist of the game setting up Tony Mamodaly for the game's final score.

Goalkeeper Delijan Bergassi played all 90 minutes in recording the shutout. Bergassi had eight saves in the win.
The game marked the final regular season match for the Bobcats who finish the year 4-8-1 overall and 3-6-1 in The Sun Conference.
