Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - No. 13 seed St. Thomas (Fla.) defeated Hastings (Neb.) 3-1 Saturday at Bobcat Field to win the Opening Round of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship. With the win, the Bobcats, ranked 10th in the NAIA Coaches Poll, became one of 16 teams to advance to the final site of NAIA National Championship, Dec. 2-8 in Orange Beach, Ala.
Following a two-hour, 13-minute weather delay that required field maintenance which included a helicopter blowing off the field, the two teams began play at 3:15 ET.

Hastings got on the scoreboard in the second half, scoring on a penalty kick by Amanda Olson to make it a one-goal game with 24 minutes to play. Less than two minutes later, Poviones then took a through pass by senior
Amanda Trujillo to give the Bobcats a two-goal cushion the rest of the way.
The Bobcats out-shot the Broncos 17-15. STU goalkeeper
Ariana Lorenzo registered eight saves, while Brittany Toth had five saves for the Broncos.
