MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The 12th ranked St. Thomas University women's soccer team, coming off a 13-1-1 record in the regular season, will open postseason play on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. vs. Johnson & Wales at Bobcat Field. With a win, STU will then host the semifinals game on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Bobcat Field vs. the winner of the Webber International-Thomas game.

STU Women's Soccer Notes of Interest:
*** The no. 12 national ranking is the highest that the Bobcats have been in a NAIA regular season poll since 1999.
*** The Bobcats have defeated three ranked teams this season, including a season-opening win over then-no. 7 Mobile. STU's only loss came in overtime at no. 2 Northwood.
*** Senior forward Sara Mira ranks fourth in the nation in points-per-game (3.67), ranks fifth in goals-per-game (1.47), and 13th in the nation in assists-per-game (0.73). She also leads the Sun Conference in all major offensive categories.
*** Senior midfielder Melony Poviones tied a school record with five goals in a game vs. Florida Memorial. Poviones ranks fourth nationally in goals-per-game (1.50) and fifth in points-per-game (3.57).
*** As a tandem, Mira and Poviones have combined for 105 points on 43 goals and 19 assists. The two All-American candidates were teammates at Plantation American Heritage High School.
*** Goalkeeper Ariana Lorenzo and the STU defense have shut out their opponent in five of the season's last seven games. In 11 of the 14 games played this season, STU has allowed no more than one goal scored.
*** STU was dominant this season at home with a 7-0-1 record at Bobcat Field. In eight home games this season, the Bobcats outscored their competition by a whopping 47-6.
