Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The 14th ranked St. Thomas University Men's Basketball team opned the 2013-14 season with a two-game road trip to North Carolina and Tennessee. With 73-58 win on Wednesday at Bryan (Tenn.) to go along with a season-opening win at Montreat (N.C.), the Bobcats headed back to South Florida with a 2-0 start to the new season.
In the 15 point win over Bryan, the Bobcats were led by
Demonte' Simpson who recorded a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
James Vice scored 18 points, while
Demetris Allen, STU's leading scorer after two games) scored 13 points.
After leading by as many as 11 points in the first half, Bryan cut the lead to three points with 18:32 to play in the second half. The Bobcats then went on a 9-0 run led by Vice and
Davorn Bryant to take control of the game from that point forward.
