Floyd Battle continued his hot start scoring 21 points, his third 20-point game in the last four contests.
Battle gave the Bobcats the early lead, scoring their first six points. He would finish the first half with 12 points. Kevin Hancapie added six points and
Lorel Beckford pulled down seven rebounds in the first half as well. Morningside's outside shooting kept the Bobcats from every taking control in the first half, with the team going 7-12. Danny Rudeen led the way for the Mustangs scoring 15 points giving his team a 31-48 lead going into the second half.
In the second half, Hincapie and senior big man
Demonte' Simpson led the way as the Bobcats tried to make a comeback. Simpson dominated the paint in the second half pulling down five offensive rebounds and scoring 11 points, on 4-5 shooting. Hincapie added 13 more points in the second half giving him a total of 19 for the game. It was Morningside's outside shooting that, once again, kept the Bobcats from taking a lead. Mornigside's Steve O'Neil put up 11 second half points, going 3-3 from beyond the arc. The Bobcats were able to come within four points with 40 seconds left but unfortunately fell short of the of a double-digit comeback.
