BOBCATS WIN IN OVERTIME ON THE ROAD

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The seventh ranked St. Thomas men's basketball team came from behind to win an overtime thriller 80-76 at Webber International on Saturday night in Babson Park, Fla.  Two Bobcats recorded double-doubles in the win as John Nunnally had 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Davorn Bryan came off the bench to score 20 points and pull down 11 rebounds.
 
Trailing 61-54 with 5:20 to play in regulation, Bryant scored seven consecutive points on two layups, a free throw, and a made jumper to tie the game at 61-61 with 3:21 to play.  WIU took the lead again until a Nunnally tip-in tied the game at 65-65 at 1:35 to play.  Neither team scored in the final 90 seconds as the game headed into overtime.
 
In overtime, STU fell behind again, trailing 72-67 at the 2:30 mark until Khaalis Coppock-Bay drilled a three-pointer off an assist by Zakary Hackett to cut the lead to two.  A Bryant layup off a Dylan O'Sullivan assist tied the game at 72-72 with 1:56 to play.  The lead see-sawed back and forth with Nunnally providing the scoring for STU hitting two free throws and two jumpers, including the game winner on an assist by Coppock-Bey with 16 seconds to play.  STU forced a WIU miss, then Hackett hit two free throws to ice the victory.
 
The win snapped a two-game losing skid for the Bobcats and improved STU to 18-6 overall and 8-3 in The Sun Conference.  St. Thomas continues its conference schedule with a game at Warner on Wednesday, before returning home to host Embry-Riddle on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Fernandez Family Center.
