The Bobcats remain undefeated with a 3-0-1 record

AFTER 110 MINUTES, STU AND GA GWINNETT END TIED

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas University women's soccer team played visiting Georgia Gwinnett to a 1-1 tie on Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Field. With the tie, the Bobcats remain undefeated with a 3-0-1 record.

STU's lone goal came in the 43rd minute as senior Amanda Trujillo served a short corner kick to senior Melony Poviones. Poviones beat one defender with one dribble then fired a shot over the Georgia Gwinnett goalkeeper. WATCH HIGHLIGHT

The Bobcats defense held the Grizzlies scoreless until a scoring play by Georgia Gwinnett's Amanda Dale in the 72nd minute. The game remained tied for the final 18 minutes of regulation forcing sudden-death overtime.

Neither team scored, despite several quality chances by the Bobcats and the game ended tied at 1-1 after two overtime periods.
St. Thomas returns to action with a neutral site game vs. Robert Morris Unviersity in Babson Park, Fla. The next home game for the Bobcats will be Sunday, September 15 at 1 p.m. vs. Saint Leo.
