SOUTHEASTERN DEFEATS STU

Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. - 12th ranked St. Thomas lost for just the second time in Sun Conference play as Southeastern won 83-75 on Wednesday night in Lakeland, Fla. STU remained in first place in conference with a 8-2 league mark. Southeastern improved to 7-3 in conference play.

The leading scorer for the Bobcats was senior Davorn Bryant who came off the bench to score 14 points. Kevin Hincapie scored 13 points, while Demonte' Simpson, Floyd Battle and Demetris Allen each scored 10.

Trailing 42-40 at halftime, STU trailed most of the second half. Simpson scored a bucket with 6:18 to play to put the Bobcats ahead 66-65. Southeastern responded with an 8-0 run and outscored St. Thomas 17-6 to close out the game.

The Bobcats return to action with another Sun Conference match up on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. vs. Thomas (Ga.) at the Fernandez Family Center.
