BOBCATS SOAR PAST NIGHT HAWKS

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. – The Bobcats took on the Night Hawks in Thomasville, Ga. Saturday afternoon. STU took charge of the game early and never looked back. St. Thomas was led by seniors Floyd Battle and Demonte' Simpson who scored 19 and 15 respectively, while two other other Bobcats scored in double digits as well.

Thomas was able to hang with the Bobcats early on in the first half. It was when Simpson came off bench that STU started to build a lead. He came on and scored 11 points in the first while Kevin Hincapie also scored 11 in the first half. STU's lead was at a staggering 15 points once the first half had come to a close.

The Bobcats came out in the second half firing on all cylinders never giving up their big lead. Battle was STU's engine in the second half scoring the majority of his 19 points and adding five assists. Lorel Beckford was also strong in the second half finishing the game with 10 points and a team high eight rebounds. As the second half was coming to a close TU made a strong push, cutting the Bobcats lead to as low as seven. In the end St. Thomas held on for a 75–65 Sun Conference win.
