STU OUTLASTS THOMAS IN OVERTIME

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. – The Bobcats faced off against Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga. Saturday afternoon. This was a game that was tightly contested from beginning to end, including overtime. In the end the Bobcats were able to come out on top, 71-65. Stu was led by Antishia Wright, scoring 24 points and grabbing nine rebounds.

After taking an early lead, St. Thomas trailed Thomas University for the majority of the first half. As the half was coming to an end, the Bobcats fought back and took a small lead in the last five minutes. The Bobcat comeback was led by Wright and Tynesha Johnson. Wright lead STU with 10 points and Johnson put up eight points and four rebounds. At the end of the first half things were tied up at 36-36,

The Bobcats took their first half momentum in the second half and took an early lead. While the Bobcats were able to hold on to their lead, the Night Hawks continued to fight. The Bobcats were led in the second half by Jessika Montalvo, who finished the game with 14 points. Unfortunately the Bobcats could not fend off the Night Hawks and the game was tied at the end of regulation with the score knotted up at 56-56.

Both teams came out firing in overtime, trading the lead in the final frame of the game. With eight seconds left, Daniella Ciccarone sank two free throws to secure STU's 71-65 overtime win.
