Box Score
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The Bobcats (6-4-1) secured a hard-fought home victory by the score of 1-0 over Johnson & Wales (3-6-1).  The two teams remained deadlock in a tie for the majority of the game until the 66th minute, when Jessica Hopping scored what would serve as the game-winning goal.  Freshman Christina Garwacki was again strong at goalkeeper with multiple saves en route to the shutout.

Both teams had their fair share of scoring opportunities in the first half, but neither was able to capitalize.  Johnson & Wales goalkeeper Jenna Boersma proved tough throughout the entire match, denying multiple Bobcat scorers.  She finished the match with 12 saves.  However, the Bobcats were finally able to break through in the 66th minute when a Natalie Diaz strike deflected off Boersma's hands to an attacking Jessica Hopping, who scored the tie-breaking goal.

The Bobcats were able to protect the lead with strong defensive performances from Ashley Taylor and Claudia Avila.  The few times that Johnson & Wales were able to penetrate the St. Thomas defense, Christina Garwacki was able to come up with game-changing saves.

The Bobcats return to action on Sunday with a Sun Conference match vs. Northwood at 4 p.m. at Bobcat Field.
