BLUFFTON, S.C. - St. Thomas (7-8-1, 3-6 TSC) came up short on the road against Sun Conference rival University of South Carolina Beaufort (7-10, 3-6 TSC), losing by the score of 3-2.  The Bobcats were able to create their fair share of scoring opportunities, generating more shot attempts and shots on goal than USCB.  However, they needed at least one more goal to give themselves a chance, and the Sand Sharks were able to hold them off long enough to secure the victory.
The match started slow, but jumped into gear when USCB's Karen Pimentel and Alexandria Radue scored back-to-back goals, all in the 18th minute. Â The Bobcats quickly responded when
Sarah Lyppert Thomsson found
Sharon Tejeda for the score in the 25th minute. Â For Tejeda, a sophomore who wasn't activated until the previous game, this marked her first goal of the season. Â Shortly before halftime, Sarah Thomsson found
Michelle Bailey in the 43rd minute for the equalizer. Â The two teams went into the half tied. Â The Sand Sharks broke the tie early in the second half, when Karen Pimentel found Hayley Pina in the 53rd minute, for USCB's third goal of the match. Â This would end up being the game-winner, as St. Thomas was not able to answer with a goal of their own.
The Bobcats have wrapped up their regular season slate and now await their fate in regards to the Sun Conference post-season tournament.  Any news concerning the Bobcats post-season hopes will be updated accordingly.
