WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES EXHIBITION MATCH AGAINST FLORIDA TECH

Box Score MELBOURNE, Fla. - St. Thomas (1-1) competed in their second exhibition match of the season, ultimately falling to Division II opponent Florida Tech (0-0) by the score of 82-66.  

The first half proved to be a tight contest.  Briefly falling behind by eight points, St. Thomas was able to cut the deficit to two by the end of the half.  The teams went into the lockerrooms with Florida Tech leading 31-29.  However, the second half proved to be all Panthers, as they outscored the Bobcats by 14 in the second half.

The Bobcats got great production from their front-court tandem of Dannisha Pierce (21 points, four rebounds, one block, one steal) and Claudia Martin (16 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, one block, one steal).  On the perimeter, Emma Grimes (nine points) was perfect from the field, making all three of her three-point attempts.

The Bobcats return to competion against Allen University (S.C.) on Friday, November 21, at the Fernandez Family Center.
