NORTH MIAMI, Fla. -- Led by 23 points by
David Santiago and a double-double by
Lorel Beckford, St. Thomas (1-2) dominated Morris (1-3) 109-80 in a neutral site affair played at the JWU Wildcat Center.
Santiago shot 8-of-11 from the field including three three-pointers en route to his career high. He also was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
Beckford scored 13 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. He was troublesome for the Hornets in the paint, shooting 3-of-4 from the field and getting to the foul line 12 times where he hit on seven of his attempts.
Santiago and Beckford were among five players scoring in double figures for the Bobcats.
Tim Sada had 12 points while
James Vice and
Miguel Martin each scored 11.
STU dominated the game from the onset and took a 45-29 lead into the half.
The Bobcats return to action with an exhibition on Saturday at 4 p.m. at NCAA D1 Florida Atlantic in Boa Raton.
