MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas (3-4, 0-2 TSC) fell to 23rd ranked Southeastern (3-1, 1-0 TSC) 81-75 in a Sun Conference affair
on Saturday evening at the Fernandez Family Center. Southeastern's Andre Winston led all scorers with 29 points.
Michael Walker led the Bobcats with 22 points to go along with a team-high four assists and two steals.
Lorel Beckford recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Southeastern ran out to an 18-6 lead to start the game and took a 37-28 lead into halftime. The Bobcats battled back to take the lead 59-58 on a
Mikon Hewitt fast-break layup and free throw conversion with
9:15 to play. A jumper by Walker gave the Bobcats a five-point lead with
4:20 to play, but Winston answered with a three-pointer to spark a 14-3 run to finish the game and give the Fire the win.
St. Thomas returns to action on Saturday, December 13, vs. Coastal Georgia at
4 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
