Floyd Battle scored 16 points to lead all scorers.
With the win, St. Thomas (16-5) remained in first place in The Sun Conference with a 9-2 record in league play.
Thomas ran out to an early 23-6 lead to start the game, yet the Bobcats chiped away at the lead for the rest of the first period. STU trailed 35-30 at halftime before going on an 18-8 run to open the second half and gain a 48-43 lead with 14:30 to play. The Bobcats continued to stretch their lead to as many as 14 points in the second half. In the final five minutes, the Nighthawks cut the lead to six points, but couldn't get any closer.
The Bobcats return to action on Tuesday vs. Florida Memorial.
