MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Sophomore
Antishia Wright scored 28 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead St. Thomas (15-10, 12-2) over Johnson & Wales (11-13, 4-9) 80-68 at the Fernandez Family Center.
Playing all 40 minutes, Wright shot 7-of-12 from the field, including a make on her only three-point attempt. She went to the line 16 times, making 13 of her attempts. Four of her 12 rebounds came on the offensive glass.
Five seniors were honored in pre-game ceremonies:
Daniella Ciccarone,
Meghan Gavin,
Berna Miranda,
Joselyn Ostrout, and
Jasmin Sakers. Ciccarone just missed a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. Gavin hit five three-pointers en route to 15 points. Miranda and Sakers both started and provided valuable minutes, while Ostrout played the game's final minute and scored the game's final two points despite nursing an injury
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday with a Sun Conference game vs. Northwood at the Fernandez Family Center. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
