Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas clinched the regular season Sun Conference championship with a 84-68 win over Northwood Wednesday night at the Fernandez Family Center. Daniella Ciccarone hit 17-of-18 free throws en route to a career-high 29 points and Antishia Wright added 23 points to lead the Bobcats.

It marked the fourth regular season conference championship for the Bobcats (2008-09, 2010-11, 2012-13, 2013-14) since entering Sun Conference play as a program in 2007-08. In the program's seven-year history, St. Thomas has a regular-season conference record of 78-17 (.821). The past two seasons have been especially dominant with the Bobcats putting up a record of 27-2 (.931) in regular-season conference play.

On Wednesday, the Bobcats led the entire contest vs. Northwood with their largest lead coming early in the second half when they led by 18. Much of the game was won at the free throw line as the Bobcats made 30-of-37(44.4%) free throw attempts compared to just 4-of-9 (44%) shooting from the free throw line for the Wildcats.

It proved to be a banner night for Ciccarone who recorded career-highs in points and free throws, while also pulling down eight rebounds, including five offensive boards. Seventeen of her 29 points came in the second half as she went 4-of-8 from the field and hit 9-of-10 free throws.

Wright scored 20 or more points for the second straight game and the fifth time this season, having scored a career-high herself in STU's last outing vs. Johnson & Wales on Feb. 15. On Wednesday, she went 7-of-15 from the field and hit 9-of-12 free throws while dishing out five assists.

STU concludes its regular season with a game at Ave Maria on Saturday. The Bobcats will then host an opening round game of The Sun Conference Championships on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.
