Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - 11th ranked St. Thomas (2-1) won for the second time in three games this season with a 3-2 victory over Webber International (0-1) at Royal Oaks Park in Miami Lakes. Scoring goals for the Bobcats were
Zelda Jagryd, Michelle Baily, and
Sarah Lyppert Thomsson.Â
Jagryd opened the scoring in the 19th minute with her first goal of the season, a blast from over 30 yards out that went over WIU goalkeeper Kayla Hanel and into the net. Less than two minutes later, Bailey scored her first career goal as a collegiate with a follow-up off a defelction by Hanel.
The score was 2-0 at halftime until the Warriors scored in the 64th minute on a Cierra Abundez, assisted by Laura Borders. Thomsson then scored off a cross from Sifonetes in the 77th minute. It marked the first career goal for Thomsson and the first career assist by Sifontes.
Velery Zerbo made her debut as the Bobcat goalkeeper and recorded three saves.
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Faulkner (Ala.) at Bobcat Field on the St. Thomas University campus.
