Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The 21st ranked St. Thomas (4-4-1, TSC 0-2) suffered another conference defeat at the hands of #5 Embry-Riddle (7-1, TSC 2-0). The Bobcats challenged Embry Riddle throughout the NAIA Match of the Week, but Embry-Riddle proved too tough to overcome.
The match started as both teams took their fair share of opportunities, but unfortunately for the Bobcats, the first goal for the Eagles fell at the hands of a STU own goal in the 23rd minute of the match. The Eagles would expand their lead throughout the first half as they scored two more goals in the 38th and 40th minute to put them ahead 3-0 at half.
The Bobcats would fight back in the second half. Michelle Bailey converted a free kick from over 30 yards out that sailed to cut into the deficit. The Bobcats rally fell short as the Eagles struck again with a goal in the final minute of the match.
The Bobcats take some time off before returning to action next week on Friday, October 3, at 3 p.m. as they face another conference opponent in Florida Memorial.
