MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –
Dannisha Pierce scored 25 points and recorded seven steals to lead St. Thomas (16-4, 9-1 The Sun Conference) to a dominant 80-48 win over Thomas University (8-11, 5-5 TSC) Saturday afternoon at the Fernandez Family Center.

Pierce, who also pulled down eight rebounds, scored 16 pf her 25 points in the second half as the Bobcats blew the game open outscoring the Night Hawks 47-29 in the second half.

In addition to Pierce,
Antishia Wright (20 pts) and
Desanta' Franklin-Jordan (10 pts) also scored in double figures for the Bobcats.

STU shot 46% from the field, including five made three-pointers.  Defensively, the Bobcats held the Night Hawks to 33% shooting. TU committed a whopping 27 turnovers.

With the win, St. Thomas remains in first place in The Sun Conference standings. Next up for the Bobcats is a home game vs. Warner 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Fernandez Family Center.
