ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – #23 ranked St. Thomas (35-12) defeats Eckerd College (16-22) in night game at The Turley Complex.
Ben Ancheff picked up his second win of the season, while
Adam Duarte powers his first homer and
Michael Centeno goes a strong four for five with three RBI.
A game that shared two runs by each team in the second inning, was separated greatly when the Bobcats posted a resounding six runs in the fourth and another six runs in the ninth inning. In that big fourth, the strongest attack came from the bat of Duarte, when he homered a two-run bomb to right field. In the big ninth, the biggest score came from
Brandon Pomeranz, who doubled to left center and scoring two.
Along with the Ancheff start,
Devon Stubbings,
Andres Hernandez,
Alejandro Kan,
Anthony Lopez,
Brandon Valentin and
Alex Viera made apperances on the mound for the Bobcats in the night game. All of these relievers besides Valentin were able to put in scoreless work on the mound. But, Valentin was also the only Bobcat to post multiple strikeouts on the night as well.

Oscar Rodriguez, Durate and Centeno tacked on multiple hits for the game. This is while, Chacin, Rodriguez, Durate and Centeno posted multiple RBI at the plate.
The Bobcats host Sun Conference leader, NAIA #3 ranked Northwood University for a three-game series this weekend. First game this Friday has the first pitched scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
