CLERMONT, Fla. –St. Thomas (7-23) are taken out of The Sun Conference Tournament by Thomas University (35-12) in the second day of the tourney, by a score of 4-1. Cristina Sacramento went a team-high three for four with a run scored, while also pitching a complete game and surrendering four runs with two strikeouts.

The two teams were set to play this morning, as they both lost their opening round games Thursday afternoon. Therefore, being a double elimination tourney, this game was a deemed an elimination for the Bobcats and Nighthawks. The game was a battle for the majority of the game, with TU scoring the first run of the game in the top of the second, with an RBI single to right. The Bobcats would fight back in the top of the fourth, as a Kristen Scott RBI single up the middle would tie up the game.

The game would be battled out all knotted up, until the Nighthawks cracked open a new three run lead in the bottom of the sixth from a RBI triple and a two-RBI double. This would push the TU ahead heading to the Bobcats' last at-bats.

With one out, Christina Horton was able to start a rally for STU with a bunt single to put their first runner on base. Cristina Sacramento would single up the middle to put runners at the corner, and the possible tying run at the plate. Unfortunately, no further production would come from the Bobcats bats, and the Thomas University Nighthawks victory would be secured, 4-1.

This would be the final game scheduled for the 2015 Bobcats Softball team, ending their season and their post-season run.
