WILDCATS OUTLAST BOBCATS IN OT

Box Score NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – St. Thomas (8-7, 2-3 TSC) falls to Johnson & Wales (11-6, 3-2 TSC) in OT 70-81 Saturday night at the Wildcat Center. 

For the Bobcats, Raheem Bowman scored a team-high of 15 points followed by an additional 14 points from teammate Michael Walker. Tim Sada added 9 points to the Bobcats score going 3 for 3 from the arc.

T.J. Johnson led the Wildcats with 25 points and 3 rebounds.  Frank Bennett followed Johnson with 14 points, while Ricardo Suarez added 13.

STU led by 9 points during the first half, then led by as many as 15 points in the second half.  However both teams would battle it out throughout the majority of the match-up.  With a St. Thomas leading 64-61 with 55 seconds to go in the second half, Jonathan Lafontant would strike back for the Wildcats, sinking a three point shot to send the game into overtime.

Coming off of a Lafontant spark late in hte second half, the Wildcats would find themselves able to pull away from the Bobcats in overtime to seal the win.

St. Thomas returns back to the grind on Thursday, January 21st at 8 p.m. E.T. to face conference opponent Webber International at the Fernandez Family Center in Miami Gardens, Fla..
