Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Jamesha Willis scored 22 points and recorded 11 steals to lead St. Thomas (8-7, 7-1 TSC) to a 62-48 win over Ave Maria (8-10, 2-7 TSC) Tuesday night at the Fernandez Family Center.  The win was the fifth straight for the Bobcats who moved into first place in The Sun Conference.

The 11 steals by Willis was the second highest single-game steals total in school history, one steal shy of the school-record of 12 steals set by Dannisha Pierce last season (Feb. 2, 2015)  vs. Warner.  In addition to her rare double-double of points and steals, she also pulled down a game-high seven rebounds and notched three assists.

Katie Rienas scored 18 points, making 7-of-8 free throws, while reigning Sun Conference Player of the Week Supavadee Kunchuan also scored in double figures with 10 points. Ave Maria was led by Katie Houbolt who scored 11 points.

The Bobcats never trailed in the contest, jumping out to a 13-6 lead in the first quarter.  STU extended its lead to as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter.  STU shot 45% from the field, while holding AMU to just 26% shooting.

Next up for St. Thomas is a trip to Southeastern, who handed the Bobcats their only loss on Jan. 8.  The Bobcats and Fire face off on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
