Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. - St. Thomas (8-8, 7-2 TSC) fell to host Southeastern (18-4, 9-2 TSC) 74-56 in a battle between teams on the top of The Sun Conference standings Saturday afternoon in Lakeland. The loss ended a five-game win streak for the Bobcats.The Bobcats led for much of the first two quarters with their largest lead coming at 22-16 with 8:40 left in the second quarter. The Fire tied the game at 27-27, then finished the half on an 8-0 run to take a 35-27 lead into intermissions.
Southeastern pulled away from STU with a 10-2 run in the third quarter. The two teams played evenly in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too much for the Bobcats to overcome.
St. Thomas returns to action vs. Florida Memorial on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center in a game originally scheduled to be played at FMU.
