MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas (0-3) lost to Edward Waters College (4-1) by a final score of 50-60 in a Monday night battle at the Fernandez Family Center.
Leading all scorers was Brittany Thompson with 23 points, four rebounds, and six steals. Behind her was Bianca Thorton who totaled 11 points for the Tigers. As a team, the Tigers went 20-of-59 to give them a shooting percentage of 34%.
The Bobcats completed a comeback after trailing to the Tigers through three quarters, but still fell short to a tough Tigers team who maintained constant pressure on the defensive end throughout the game. The Bobcats turned the ball over to the Tigers 27 times.
Emily Erameh led the Bobcats with a double-double, totaling 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals. Next in line for the Bobcats was
Desanta' Franklin-Jordan, totaling 10 points and eight rebounds. Closing out for the Bobcats was
Jordan Charlton who tallied nine points, two rebounds, two blocks, and went 1-of-3 from downtown. The Bobcats shot 36% from the field, shooting 18-of-50 in the game.
Next up for the Bobcats is a non-conference matchup against Johnson & Wales University.
