BOBCATS DOMINATE WILDCATS IN DOUBLE HEADER

Miami Gardens, Fla. - St. Thomas (23-6, TSC 10-3) defeated Johnson & Wales (1-24, TSC 0-12) twice in a double header at the Fernandez Family center. The Bobcats dominated the night winning both matches in straight sets.

The first match went to the Bobcats in straight sets 25-6, 25-4, and 25-5. Leading the way for STU was Shanotta Bawek with 12 kills, one service ace, one block assist and two digs. Brooke Sorensen added seven kills and two service aces. Closing out the attack for St. Thomas was Kadeeja Griffin who contributed six kills.

The Bobcat leader in assists was none other than senior Dana Nowaczyk who totaled 12 assists, four digs and one service ace.

Second match went to the Bobcats in another decisive win over the Wildcats 25-3, 25-6 and 25-7.

Carly Durr had a dynamic second match with eight kills and two digs. Sorensen had another well-played game adding nine kills and three blocks. Nowaczyk was on fire serving the ball as she totaled eight service aces, 10 assists and seven digs in the second match.

 Next up for the Bobcats is senior night on Saturday, November 5th against Ave Maria University at 2 p.m. in the Fernandez Family Center.
