Barbourville, Ky.- St. Thomas (3-0) edged past Union (2-2) 87-85 in the final game of the NAIA Southeastern Challenge, to finish undefeated in the tournament that pitted top teams from The Sun Conference and the Appalachian Athletic Conference.Â
The first half provided a tight matchup as the Bulldogs kept close with the Bobcats, going in to the half tied at 36-36, but with Raheem Bowman shooting 14-22 (63.6%) from the field, there was no stopping the Bobcats as they pounced on their third straight victory.Â
Bowman scored career high 35 points to go along with his 15 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. Kristers Zeidaks (16 points, five rebounds and two assists) and Michael Walker II (15 points, five steals, five rebounds, two rebounds and two blocks), assisted in the offensive and defensive efforts, helping the Bobcats go undefeated on the weekend.
Next up for the St. Thomas is the home opener on Tuesday, November 8 at 7 p.m. at the Fernandez Family Center.Â
