LAKELAND, Fla. – No. 2 seed Southeastern (16-1) defeated no. 6 seed St. Thomas (11-7) 3-1 in the semifinals of the Sun Conference Championships, eliminating the Bobcats from conference tournament play. Southeastern will play Keiser in the Sun Conference Championship final on Friday in West Palm Beach.
Trailing 2-0, Amyah Banks scored the lone goal for the Bobcats in the final minutes of the first half. The Fire then scored a goal early in the second half as the Bobcats were unable to overcome the deficit down the stretch.
The Bobcats had only four shots in the match, with Banks having the only shot on goal. The remaining shots for STU came from Sarah Lyppert Thomsson, Taylor Malone and Claudia Avila, each taking one shot a piece.
This wraps up the season for the Bobcats as they close out the season with an 11-7 record,
