BOBCATS SUFFER LOSS AGAINST SAILFISH

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – St. Thomas (6-5), ranked number one by Perfect Game and no. 2 in the NAIA Coaches Poll, lost 9-4 to Palm Beach Atlantic (7-5) at Rubin Park.
 
St. Thomas scored in the fifth with a double down the left field line by Kendrick Gutierrez, followed by a triple to left center by Michael Centeno, who would score Gutierrez. With Centeno on third, Jose Gomez would ground out to short stop and score Centeno. 

Headed to the sixth, Oscar Aguirre would open up the inning with a single up the middle. With Aguirre at first and Steven Fischer up to bat, Fischer would hit a single to right field advancing Aguirre to second. Gutierrez, up next at bat, would hit a grounder to third and reach first on a fielder's choice that would advance Fischer to second. Then Palm Beach Atlantic's pitcher David Paul, would walk Oscar Rodriguez allowing bases to be loaded for Centeno. Centeno would get a hold of the ball with a single trough the left side which would earn two RBI's.


St. Thomas returns back to the diamond on Saturday February 20th vs. Palm Beach Atlantic for a double-header at noon and 3 p.m. E.T. at Rubin Park.
