BABSON PARK, Fla. - No. 2 St. Thomas (9-9, 2-1 Sun Conference) split a doubleheader with host Webber International (8-7, 3-3 TSC) on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats won 10-8 in the first game, then fell 11-10 in game two.

In game one, a two-run home run by first baseman Kendrick Gutierrez in the top of the fifth put St. Thomas ahead 4-1.  Webber battled back to take a 6-4 lead after seven innings.  In the top of the eighth, Third baseman Cesar Ramirez hit a two-run double to left center to tie the game 6-6.

Ramirez would then score on a fielder's choice to give STU the lead before a RBI triple by Adam Duarte down the right field line made the score 8-6.  The Bobcats added two insurance runs in the ninth.

In the second game, St. Thomas jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI-single by Gutierrez followed by a RBI-double by Steven Fischer.  Webber cut the lead to 4-3, before a Ramirez RBI-double gave STU a two-run advantage.  

The Warriors then scored five unanswered runs to storm into the lead.  The Bobcats would come back behind Oscar Aguirre who hit an RBI single in the seventh and then a two-RBI double in the ninth. Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 11-11.  In the bottom of the ninth, the Warriors scored the game-winning run to walk off with the win and avoid the series sweep.

STU returns to action on Monday with non-conference, neutral site games in Vero Beach, Fla.
