Cesar Ramirez hit a walk-off single to score
Jose Gomez as St. Thomas (19-11) defeated NCAA DII Palm Beach Atlantic (15-10) Tuesday night at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.

With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth, Gomez drew a lead-off walk and was moved to second base on a long fly out by
Oscar Aguirre. After
Kendrick Gutierrez drew his third walk of the night, Ramirez crushed a single to left field that scored Gomez from second for the game-winner.

PBA had tied the game up in the top of the ninth after the Bobcats had taken a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI-single by
Adam Duarte (2-5, RBI) that scored
German Morales.

Ramirez went 2-5 with the game-winning single, a double and two RBI. Steven Fisher also went 2-5 with a solo home run in the third that tied the game 1-1. The next inning, Ramirez hit a double that scored Gutierrez to put the Bobcats up 2-1. The Sailfish then scored in the fifth to tie the game 2-2.

Alex Viera (5-0), who pitched the eighth and the ninth, earned the win for the Bobcats. Phil DiLandro (1-2) took the loss for the Sailfish.

Alejandro Kan started the game for STU and pitched five complete innings, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out three and walking one.Â
Devon Stubbings pitched two shutout innings allowing just one hit and one walk with two strikeouts.

St. Thomas returns to action with a road game at Ave Maria on Wednesday.
