MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. –Lynn (21-19) defeated St. Thomas (28-17) 8-7 on Senior Night at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.
 
Lynn jumped to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first.  The Bobcats were able to score one run in the bottom of the first to make the score 5-1.
 
Lynn extended its lead back to 6-1 with a run in the top of the fifth, before the Bobcats stormed into the lead with a six-run bottom of the fifth.  Steven Fischer reached on an error, then advanced to third on a single by Oscar Aguirre.  Cesar Ramirez walked to load the bases for Jack Diaz who recorded an RBI on a bases-loaded walk.  Adam Duarte was then hit by a pitch to lead the bases again for Michael Centeno who cashed in with a two-run double scoring Diaz and Ramirez.  Bryan Bermudez then doubled to score Centeno and Duarte, giving the Bobcats the 7-6 lead.
 
Neither team scored in the sixth through the eighth innings until a run came home for the Fighting Knights in ninth to tie the score at 7-7.  The game headed into extra innings and after a scoreless tenth, Lynn scored the game-winning in the 11^th.
 
Several Bobcats provided strong pitching performances.  Anthony Lopez pitched 4.1 innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out three.  Lopez at one point retired 11 straight batters.  Brandon Valentin went three innings, allowing one run on one hit with four strikeouts.  Alex Viera went two innings allowing no runs on one hit while striking out four.
 
The Bobcats return to action this weekend with a  three-game conference series at Keiser.
