MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas University and the Miami FC will officially dedicate a new lighting system with a "turn on the lights" ceremony prior to the STU vs. Nova Southeastern Men's Soccer game on Tuesday, September 6.  The dedication ceremony will be held at 7:15 p.m. with the game kicking off at 7:30 p.m. at the STU Soccer Fields.

The new Musco lighting system was donated by the Miami FC as part of a partnership with St. Thomas University whereby the Miami FC's training headquarters is on the STU campus.  With the addition of the lights, The Miami FC will now have the ability to train at night, while the St. Thomas Men's and Women's soccer teams will begin playing evening matches.

Prior to the first regular-season game to be played under the lights, a dedication ceremony will feature Monsignor Franklyn Casale, President of St. Thomas University and Sean Flynn, CEO of the Miami FC and an alumnus (MS, 1996) of STU's Sports Administration program.  The Miami FC players as well as Bobcat Men's and Women's Soccer players and coaches will also take part in the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the St. Thomas Men's Soccer team will host local rival Nova Southeastern.  The Bobcats, under the direction of Head Coach Felix Mats, will be looking to avenge a tight 1-0 loss last season to the Sharks.

Admission to the event is free and those in attendance will receive a voucher for a complimentary ticket to a future Miami FC match.  Free food and drink (while supplies last) will also be provided to those in attendance
