MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas (12-6) defeated Voorhees (5-9) 78-62 in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at the Fernandez Family Center.
The Bobcats opened the game with a 20-6 run, dominating the competition. The driving force in the first half simply came from shooting 7-16 from beyond the arc, while on the opposite end, holding the Tigers to just two made three pointers all game. A big first half came from both Timothy Sada and Kristers Zeidaks as they both scored 11 points. The Bobcats took a 41-27 lead going into intermission, leading from beginning to end without a single hiccup.
Armand Shoon hit five three-pointers and Sada hit four three-pointers as each scored 18 points to lead the Bobcats. Zeidaks (seven rebounds) scored 13 points and recorded four blocks, while Raheem Bowman registered his 11th double-double on the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Tyrone Haughton had an explosive game on the defensive end, receiving a game-high six blocks.
St. Thomas returns to action on Thursday at 7 p.m. in a Sun Conference battle vs. Webber International at the Fernandez Family Center.
