MIAMI GARDENS, FLA.- St. Thomas (12-2-1, 9-2 TSC) took down conference rivals Thomas (7-8-2, 4-6-1 TSC) on Saturday afternoon in The Sun Conference Quarterfinals  by a final score 3-1.
 
A win in this matchup pushes STU further in the postseason as the Bobcats look to take down the Fire of Southeastern.
 
St. Thomas opened up the score line in the first half with an absolute screamer as Sarah Lyppert Thomsson netted her fourth goal on the season, a shot from 35 yards out. The goal in the 24th minute would be upheld all the way through the first half.
 
After the half, Thomas would net its first goal in the 66th minute.
 
STU would retaliate and break the tie seven minutes after as Kortney Hinden curls a beauty from the left side of the box to the right post, as it ricochets to the back of the net. The goal came in the 73rd minute with a precisely timed pass from Amyah Banks.
 
The fourth and final goal in the 86th minute completed the brace for Hinden as Amanda Gordon set her up in the box for a quick flick over the keeper.
 
For St. Thomas, Hinden finished the match with four shots and all four on goal with two goals on the day. Jannel Johnson and Eva Castano Candela both shot four times on the day, with three on goal.
 
Starting goalkeeper Cristina Garwacki closed out the match with five saves and only one goal conceded.
 
The Bobcats will travel to play Southeastern on Tuesday, November 7 with a time yet to be determined. This match will be marked as a Sun Conference Semifinals Match as the Bobcats look to advance further in postseason playoff.
