THOMASVILLE, GA. – #22 St. Thomas (6-2, 3-0 TSC) close out its Georgia road trip with a Sun Conference win against rivals Thomas (4-6, 1-3 TSC) by a final score of 85-72 on Saturday afternoon.
In a big way,
Kamil Brown led the way for the Bobcats as he closed out his afternoon with a game-high 19 points which blended perfectly with his four rebounds and three assists.
This match marked the first time the two teams met since the prior season when TU knocked STU out of The Sun Conference Tournament and it was clear from the beginning that the Bobcats were ready to bring home a statement win.
In the first half, St. Thomas brought the same intensity that they took to the house of Coastal Georgia just two nights ago. However, Thomas would not let up and would keep this match neck and neck throughout the first half. A final score of 33-30 on favor of STU would be taken to the locker room in hopes of a break away second half. Brown recorded 11 of his 19 in the first as
Khalil Williams lurked closely with eight first half points to his name.
The second half had STU seal the deal with a game-high six threes in the half. Antoine Joe recorded a near perfect record from behind the arc in the second with 3-for-4 shooting, .750 from beyond.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to a perfect 3-0 in TSC play.
Notable numbers on the day for St. Thomas came from Brown (19 points, four rebounds, and three assists), Williams (17 points and four rebounds), and both
Fotios Malelis (13 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one assist) and
Timothy Sada (13 points, two rebounds, and two assists).
Next up for the Bobcats is a conference match on the road against Keiser on Thursday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Fla.
