AVE MARIA, Fla.- St. Thomas (18-7, TSC 9-4) took down Ave Maria (6-19, TSC 4-10)by a final score of 90-61 in a Sun Conference contest on Thursday night at the Tom Golisano Field House.
It was all St. Thomas in the driver's seat in the conference game, as the Bobcats led for the complete 40 minutes against AMU, not letting up not once.
It was
Armand Shoon who took control of the first half for STU, scoring three of his four three-pointers and 11 points total to lead all scorers at the half.
Mikhail Rolle shot a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc to compliment his 4-for-6 shooting in the first. The Bobcats scored a team season-high nine three-pointers in the first half.
The second half brought more of the same STU dominance, with
Raheem Bowman collecting eight more rebounds to add to his six first half boards, to help him earn his double-double.
Kristers Zeidaks also scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half.
Rolle scored a career-high 14 points on the night as Bowman recorded his 14
th double-double of the season, which consisted of 17 points and 14 rebounds. Shoon put in a game-high 18 points with Zeidaks not too far behind him with 16 points.
Next up for the Bobcats is a road trip to Thomasville, Ga. on Saturday, February 11 at 4 p.m. to take on Sun Conference opponent Thomas.
