MIAMI GARDENS, Fla -- No. 3 (Perfect Game) St. Thomas (17-8) dropped a heartbreaker against Wilmington (5-4) 9-7 on Thursday night.
The Bobcats led early, after a two run home run by
Michael Centeno that went deep to left field, kissing the scoreboard. Centeno has a team-leading eight home runs on the season. He has done this in under 100 at bats, which is a good pace for a power hitter.Â
The game was a back-and-fourth rollercoaster that went south after the Wildcats took a 9-5 lead in the top of the ninth inning. The Bobcats attempted a rally in their last at bat, but ultimately fell by a score of 9-7.
